A 100 piece photography collection by award-winning duo Peter and Chris Parks.

A recurring theme through all of Peter and Chris's work has been the Oceans, within which live the least known but most important organisms in the ocean, the plankton. This collection was all shot on film and has come from expeditions from the last 40 years. These are the creatures that form the base of the food chain in the oceans as well as providing us with most of the air that we breathe. It was the technical and creative challenge of filming some of the smallest inhabitants of the oceans that saw them developing the optics, cameras, rigs and techniques that enabled their work in feature films, commercials and documentaries for TV, cinema and IMAX. This collection has been pulled from their archives and consists of their favorite and most meaningful images.

Why are we doing this as an NFT project?

o Telling the stories that we want to tell is all about engaging our audiences. That is why we have used narrative, 3D, AR/VR and why now we want to use NFTs. NFTs are incredible at engaging their audiences and we believe that that potential is only just starting to be realized for storytelling and direct action projects.

o Our 6 year plan is all about building a community that we can take on the journey with us and there is no better space to do that, than in the NFT space.

o Using NFT projects as the ‘base’ projects means that we can involve our collectors in some of the future decisions and take them on the journey with us.

Peter has spent most of that time engrossed in the world of nature, be it underwater on The Great Barrier Reef of Australia, or an obscure island off the coast of Bermuda, in mid Atlantic, or conjuring up weird and wonderful special effects, based upon nature and natural science, for Feature Films, TV productions, or Imax spectaculars, both at OSF, the company he cofounded with others in 1968 and helped lead for twenty five years, or within Image Quest 3-D, for the following twenty seven years with his son, Chris.
He was honoured by the American Academy with an Oscar in 1983 and invested by Her Majesty The Queen with an OBE a year later.
All that while he was dreaming up the Umbrij saga and its many dramatic episodes, all of which draw upon those many years of encounter, experience and anecdotal exchanges with close friends in the field of wildlife filming and research.
He is currently designing and installing a major, permanent marine exhibit, alongside his financial partner’s Tallship build and repair development, within the spectacular fishing village and harbour of Charlestown, Cornwall.

Chris Parks

Artist, Photographer & Filmmaker

Chris is an artist and filmmaker known for creating vast expansive worlds and impossible to film visuals, without digital enhancement, including iconic works for Terrence Malick’s ‘The Tree of Life’, Darren Aronofsky’s ‘The Fountain and Justin Kurzel’s ‘Assassin’s Creed’.
Chris developed his unique style and his technique for painting within very small volumes of liquid after leaving the Royal College of Art in London and while working alongside Peter as a wildlife cameraman, specialising in capturing the very smallest creatures on our planet. This work led to him working and exhibiting internationally.
He has been called on by a glittering array of the world's top brands to collaborate on commercials projects. This includes work for companies such as Vogue, Apple, Sony, Rolls Royce, Coca Cola and Hennessy. However, it was the advent of NFTs that finally created an outlet for Chris's video paintings. Since entering the space in early 2021 he has fully embraced NFTs, both as a successful solo artist and in collaboration with others.
Chris is regularly in demand by music artists and this includes him supporting Simian Mobile Disco for a one hour set at London’s Barbican. Chris and his team created, live, continuously evolving art pieces to accompany SMD, which were projected onto the giant cinema screen behind the band as they performed their new Album “Murmurations’.

Alongside his abstract work, Chris gets brought on board some of Hollywood’s biggest films to supervise the stereo 3D. Following four years as stereo supervisor for ‘Gravity’, Chris has been responsible for the 3D across films that include ‘Edge of Tomorrow’, ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ and has recently completed work on the latest Bond film, and the only one to be made in 3D, 'No Time to Die'.
